Edison Power ends new battery storage plant development, citing worsening investment environment

Edison Power, based in Kisarazu, Chiba, announced on October 7 that it will end new development of grid-scale battery storage plants and will not invest in a planned large-scale project on the former Okitsu Shokuhin site in Shizuoka City. The company said an influx of new market entrants meant the project no longer met its investment criteria. It will instead focus on services such as factory-sited batteries, self-consumption solar-plus-storage, data center power and operations support.
