Japan Energy Storage Development Institute (JESDI) completed grid energization of the 2MW/5MWh Shichihongi Storage Station in Kamisato, Saitama, on March 31, 2026, about three and a half months after construction began. The site uses HOBE ENERGY's 5ft compact LFP systems and will provide primary control reserve. It follows the Kaminara Storage Station energized on March 27, 2026, and is JESDI's third site after Aisho, Shiga, and Kumagaya, Saitama.
